Albuquerque-Bernalillo County Prevent

The Albuquerque Bernalillo County Prevention Initiative is committed to reducing the misuse of alcohol and opioid pain medications among youth in our community. By working collaboratively with community stakeholders, we develop and implement impactful strategies that engage youth, parents, healthcare professionals, and local law enforcement to create lasting change.

Our approach centers on building a media campaign that resonates with young people and those who influence them, such as parents, educators, and law enforcement officers, particularly the Albuquerque Police Department. This campaign is informed by the collective input of our community, ensuring that it reflects local values and effectively addresses the challenges our youth face.

The ABC Prevent Coalition includes a diverse group of stakeholders, such as youth service agencies, the New Mexico Department of Health, the Albuquerque Police Department, and Albuquerque Public Schools, all united by a shared goal: to create a safer, healthier future for our young people.
