Mario Esteban Del Ángel Guevara’s Bio :

Instructor of Curanderismo, Traditional Medicine, Mario grew up in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico. He has his bachelor’s in bilingual education and has taught Spanish as a 2nd language, heritage language, medical Spanish, and bilingual courses on Curanderismo: Traditional Medicine of Mexico and the Southwest. He is a Spanish-English translator and has translated books on Hispanic/Latinx traditional medicine. Mario received his certificate on Mexican Traditional Medicine, Curanderismo from Centro de Desarrollo hacia la Comunidad in Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico.

Dr. Eliseo Cheo Torres’s Bio:

Cheo is part-time faculty teaching traditional medicine, Curanderismo, history, herbal remedies, and rituals to scholars, students, lay people and medical professionals. Before NM, he was VP for Student Affairs and Professor at Texas A&M. He has 7 books on his life and research including: Curanderismo: The Art of Traditional Medicine without Borders, Curandero: Traditional Healers of Mexico and the Southwest, Curandero: A Life in Mexican Folk Healing, and Healing with Herbs and Rituals: A Mexican Tradition.
