Improved Health and Education Outcomes

Albuquerque-Bernalillo County (ABC) Prevent

The ABC Prevent Project, a 5 year SAMHSA grant to reduce underage drinking (ages 9-20) & prescription painkiller misuse (ages 12-25), is being conducted in Bernalillo County in partnership with Pacific Institute Research & Evaluation (PIRE). Coalition-driven, evidence-based interventions will address community-level contributing factors in the misuse of these substances while maintaining a core focus on addressing related disparities to health equity. ABC Prevent is a project within the Opioid Accountability Initiative (OAI)

Anti-Stigma Education and Training

Stigma about opioid use disorder from the general community, healthcare providers, lawmakers, law enforcement, and the criminal justice system can be an inadvertent or undue barrier to treatment.
