Community-centered outreach helps increase vaccine confidence and access in underserved and historically excluded communities, reducing disparities for vaccine-preventable illnesses.
Our Story
Healthy Here began in 2014 as a partnership between community organizations, public health leaders, and local institutions working to improve the conditions that shape health in Albuquerque and Bernalillo County. Over time, the coalition has grown through collaboration, community leadership, and initiatives that expand access to healthy food, active living, and trusted health resources.
2014
The Early Years: Building a Foundation
Healthy Here formed partnerships with community organizations, schools, and healthcare providers, launching early initiatives such as FreshRx and gathering community input through listening sessions.
2016
Growth and Impact: Expanding REACH
Healthy Here promoted active living through initiatives like CiQlovía while strengthening food access through partnerships with the Agri-Cultura Network and the New Mexico Farmers’ Marketing Association.
2020 - 2022
COVID-19 Pandemic Response: Rising to the Challenge
Healthy Here partners continued supporting food access and active living while expanding outreach efforts around vaccine equity, helping ensure communities had trusted information and access to health resources.
